Job summary

The VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS) in Dallas, TX seeks a Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse for the Homeless Domiciliary (HDOM). You will provide bedside nursing care, administer medications, and monitor patient responses under RN/MD supervision.

Qualifications include an active LPN/LVN license, English proficiency, and OBTAINING/maintaining state licensure. The role may include rotating shifts and collaborative care with the nursing team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a state-approved practical or vocational nursing program.
• Active LPN/LVN license in good standing.
• English language proficiency required.
• Experience in nursing care in hospital/outpatient settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document vital signs and neuro checks, circulatory assessments, and intake/output measurements.
• Administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular) per policy; monitor responses.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to RN or provider; document in CPRS.
• Assist in orienting/training LVNs, NAs, or HTs; participate in care planning and education for patients and families.
