Job summary

Structured Pediatric Training from Day One

You will not be expected to step onto the floor without preparation.

After completing General Orientation, every new PSC LPN receives more than three weeks of hands‑on clinical training with experienced pediatric nurses before working independently. Training is designed to help you understand the children, their individualized care plans, PSC’s clinical standards, and the specialized skills required to provide safe pediatric care.

You will continue to have access to experienced nurses and interdisciplinary team members as you grow in the role.

What You’ll Do as an LPN at PSC:

Be a Critical Member of the Care Team

• Participate actively in change‑of‑shift reports to ensure seamless continuity of care
• Seek RN guidance when care needs exceed LPN scope of practice

Support Clinical Excellence & Safety

• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
• Assist with admissions, re‑evaluations, and care plan updates
• Follow all safety, infection control, and medication administration standards

Qualifications

LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse (Pediatrics)

• Credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse with a current state license in good standing for the state in which work is performed
• Valid, current BLS/CPR and First Aid certification
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Training and work experience in a pediatric setting preferred
• Meets the qualifications of a Child Care Supervisor as described in 55 Pa. Code Chapter 3800
• This position requires exceptional, structured training: You will be supported from day one. After General Orientation, every new LPN receives over three weeks of hands‑on, clinical training with experienced pediatric nurses before working independently on the floor. regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
