QCHC Inc. is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse for a part-time, weekend role at Talladega County.

The LPN provides nursing care in a correctional setting under the physician's supervision, handling medications, patient assessments, and sick calls while adhering to state nursing guidelines. The position offers weekend shifts with pay rate of $28/hr plus a $4.00/hr shift differential, with full benefits and opportunities for professional support within a physician-owned correctional health care

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an Accredited Vocational/Technical School.
• Current and valid LPN license (LVN acceptable in some states).
• Current CPR certification.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience as an LPN.
• One year of correctional health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond and intervene in all emergency situations within the facility.
• Conduct patient intake paperwork and process admissions.
• Verify and obtain orders for patient medications as directed.
• Administer medications following nursing standards and regulations.
• Document nursing care, treatments, and lab orders accurately.
• Assist with Chronic Care Clinic and provider sick calls.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes promptly.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with policies.

Description Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Site Administrator/Coordinator the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing services to patients within a correctional environment. The LPN delivers nursing care as directed by the Physician within the scope of the State Board of Nursing Practice for the LPN.

Pay Rate: $28/hr

Shift differential $4.00/hr

• Respond and intervene in all emergency situations
• Conduct Patient Intake paperwork
• Verify and obtain orders for patient medication
• Conduct Sick Call clinic
• Order / maintain supply of patient medication from pharmacy
• Administer medications following nursing standards and correctional regulations
• Complete and document ordered treatments, patient care, and collection ordered labs
• Assist provider with Chronic Care Clinic and Provider sick call visit
• Monitor for, report and document changes in patient's condition
• Accurately document all patient information, nursing care and interventions
• Ensure daily nursing task are completed within prescribed timeframe.
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Assist with training and orientation of new personnel
• Follow QCHC policies, procedures & guidelines
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
