Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care, under supervision. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles, competency within the full scope of nursing, and utilizes age-appropriate standards. Performs testing, evaluates data, and provides care accordingly. Recognizes problems, recommends solutions, and responds effectively in emergencies.
Ensures residents' health, comfort, and safety. Assists in assessments, administers medications, and provides technical support. Documents interactions and outcomes. Maintains effective relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public. Communicates clearly, maintains confidentiality, and counsels residents and families on care plans. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program; an Associate degree is preferred. If IV therapy is required, North Dakota-specific requirements apply. Must hold an unencumbered LPN license with the State Nursing Board or multi-state licensure privileges. Maintains required competencies, certifications, and continuing education.
