Job Description

Contributes data to patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Promotes adaptive responses of patient/family to achieve optimal care, safety, and satisfaction. Demonstrates compassionate care. Coordinates patient care and staff interactions. Meets qualifications to care for patients in the assigned unit.

  • Provides data for assessments within scope of practice and standards.
  • Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
  • Reinforces education, discharge planning, and family needs throughout hospitalization.
  • Provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostics per policy.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of interventions based on patient response.
  • Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team; takes proactive actions.
  • Participates in evidence-based practice decision-making.
  • Provides input for performance appraisals of team members.
  • Precepts and mentors new staff and students professionally and positively.

Work is performed in a clinical environment. Responsible for fulfilling job obligations and adhering to policies. Additional competencies will be outlined during orientation.

Position Details

Hours: 7 am - 7:30 pm, every other weekend and holiday.

Cardiac experience preferred; willing to learn in Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular surgical units.

Ideal candidates will have interest in Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular Nursing Care and a commitment to excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from Specialty Training Program in Nursing (Required)

Experience: Relevant experience preferred

Certifications: BLS Certification; LPN License
