Job summary

BJC Medical Group in Farmington, Missouri, is seeking a full-time IV - Certified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for ambulatory care. The Staff LPN Ambulatory will support physicians in patient care, perform rooming, vitals, in-office meds, IVs, and triage calls, with strict adherence to state regulations.

The role emphasizes no on-call, no weekend shifts, and a standard day schedule of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with full benefits and a strong focus on patient safety and care

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid LPN license and IV certification.
• Experience with ambulatory medical settings preferred but not required.
• Phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care testing are utilized.
• Maintain patient records and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under physician/advanced practice supervision.
• Room patients, obtain vitals, and assist with procedures.
• Administer medications in-office and initiate/discontinue IV fluids as directed.
• Triage patient calls and relay information to the provider accurately.
• Perform point-of-care testing and charting in patient records.
• Adhere to HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA and infection control procedures.

Role Purpose

The Staff LPN Ambulatory is responsible for providing direct patient care under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider in an ambulatory care setting. Assigned tasks may include rooming patients, obtaining vitals, administering medications in-office, initiating/discontinuing IV fluids, performing point of care lab testing, assisting with procedures and triaging patient phone calls. All responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with applicable state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provides general nursing services to patients under the supervision of a physician or other licensed provider within the scope of practice for the LPN.
• Performs clinical skills, such as phlebotomy, EKGs, point of care testing and medication administration. Assists with medical office procedures and initiating/discontinuing IV fluids as directed.
• Follows HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA, Medication Management and Infection Prevention procedures for cleaning and sterilization of equipment and/or instruments.
• Obtains vital signs, patient history and maintains accurate and prompt charting in the patient's record.
• Triage calls, provide test and lab results to patients and present relevant information to provider with correct medical terminology.
• BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
