Job summary

Summa Health System in Akron, OH is seeking a licensed practical nurse to assist, provide, and coordinate nursing care for patients to achieve optimal health. You will participate with Summa Health care teams to deliver patient-focused care and adapt to daily operations with professionalism in a medical office environment.

Requirements include graduation from a nursing program and current Ohio LPN license. You must be able to travel between locations within the medical group and work a Full-Time

Qualifications

Graduate of a school of professional nursing.
Current license to practice practical nursing in the State of Ohio.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and EMR.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
Maintains HIPAA confidentiality.
Ability to travel between locations within the medical group.
Must pass yearly clinical skill competencies.
Ability to handle bodily fluids and potential exposure to communicable disease.
Ability to interact with diverse patient populations and communicate with physicians and health care professionals.

Summary

Formal Education Required

Graduate of a school of professional nursing. A nursing school accepted for candidacy status from an accrediting body is preferred.

Experience & Training Required

Current license to practice practical nursing in the State of Ohio.
Additional related previous experience may be required for various practices.

For SHMG (medical group) employees: Ability to obtain Basic Life Support certification within six months of hire with Summa Health and ability to maintain the BLS certification.

Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and other health care professionals in exchanging information and assisting with patient care.

Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
