Job summary

Open Arms Care in Nashville, TN seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing and health care services to individuals served, following organizational policies and state guidelines. Training will be provided for clients and staff, with emphasis on safety and quality care.

The position requires TN LPN licensure, CPR within 30 days, PCM certification within 60 days, and a valid driver’s license, with two weeks of paid training and no weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Nursing or graduate of LPN program.
• Active TN Licensed Practical Nurse license.
• CPR within 30 days of employment.
• Certified in Professional Crisis Management (PCM) within 60 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong written and verbal communication and time management.

Responsibilities

• Provides training to all employees and clients.
• Evaluates emergencies and determines actions.
• Manages controlled substances per policy and state guidelines.
• Maintains security of medication storage areas.
• Records vital signs and observations.
• Administers treatments and medications as ordered; assists physicians.
• Rotates taking call and notifies on-call physician as needed.
• Transcribes physician orders accurately.
• Ensures adequate drug stocks and proper ordering.
• Provides and documents all medical and nursing care.
• Ensures client safety at all times.
• Supports direct care staff to maintain high care standards.
• Participates in ISP development through Interdisciplinary Team Meetings.
