Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System in Cleveland is seeking an LPN for the Hepatology/Gastroenterology unit at the Main Campus. You will assist caregivers, provide top-quality patient care, and expand nursing skills through Cleveland Clinic's educational resources.

The role runs Mon–Fri, 7:30am–4:00pm with no weekends or holidays, offering a supportive team environment and opportunities to contribute to patient care across a diverse population.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing Program.
• Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• If in ED, ACLS and PALS Certifications through the American Heart Association or Red Cross within one year of hire in ED settings.

Responsibilities

• Collect, document and report patient data and observations.
• Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
• Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
• Perform routine laboratory tests.
• Educate patients and family members.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing Program

• Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

• If in ED, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross within one year of hire in ED settings

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• One year of patient care experience

• Previous experienced as an LPN in Radiology

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye‑hand coordination.

• Involves extensive standing and walking.

• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
