Job summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider within Huntsville Hospital Health System. This role serves diverse patient populations, following the plan of care and supporting patient education and documentation of care.

Collaboration with the care team ensures safe, quality outcomes. Eligible candidates include graduates or experienced LPNs with Alabama licensure; BLS is required by the end of orientation.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of State board School of Practical Nursing with current Alabama licensure.
• Experience: Experienced/New Graduate
• BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for diverse patient populations under supervision of RN or provider.
• Reinforce and educate patients as part of routine care.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Communicate and coordinate with the health care team to ensure safe and effective care.
