Job summary

The State of Missouri, Missouri Department of Mental Health's St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center-North, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a 75-bed forensic psychiatric hospital.

The LPN will perform nursing duties, assist with wound care, administer medications under supervision, document assessments, and collaborate with RNs and direct care staff to support patient safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Current Missouri LPN license or nurse licensure compact eligibility.
• At least 1 year of LPN experience in a hospital, institution, or health care facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform practical nursing duties including wound care and tracheal care.
• Provide bedside care, feeding, and personal hygiene assistance.
• Record vital signs, draw labs, and monitor patient conditions.
• Administer medications under physician orders and supervision.
• Assist RNs and coordinate with care staff on unit activities.
• Prepare nursing assessments and care plans; document care accurately.
• Educate patients on basic health care and preventive practices.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient appointments.
