Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department (ED) – Level 1 Trauma Center. This is a part-time, weekend-days position with a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and relocation assistance available.

The ED is a 53-bed unit with Magnet-designated facilities, offering diverse opportunities for growth and promotion within a patient‑centered team. Competitive benefits and compensation are provided.

The Norfolk General Hospital's Emergency Department is a 53-bed unit. Our Trauma One Facility is equipped to handle a variety of medical emergencies, and approximately 10% are Trauma related.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is the region’s first Magnet Hospital. It is a 525-bed medical center, serves as a primary teaching facility, and home to the area's only Level 1 Trauma Center within a 126-mile region.

Our Norfolk General facility has four intensive care units and two intensive care units in our 112-bed Nationally Ranked Heart Hospital that sits on our campus.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $28.57 - $43.04 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
