Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse Supervisor for the Emergency Department. This full-time role supports a Level I Trauma Center, with evening-rotating shifts and weekend rotation. The ED team delivers rapid, high-quality care across trauma, cardiac, stroke, and critical care cases.

The ideal candidate has a BSN, RN license, BLS within 90 days, and 2+ years in emergency nursing, including supervisory experience. Sign-on and relocation assistance may be available.

Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor - Emergency Department | Level I Trauma Center

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a full‑time Registered Nurse Supervisor for our Emergency Department, home to Hampton Roads’ only Level I Trauma Center. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing emergency nursing team where clinical skill, teamwork, and purpose come together to make an immediate impact for patients and families across the region.

Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital - Norfolk, VA

Position Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Shift: Evening-Rotating

Available Hours:
9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
11:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
1:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.
3:00 p.m. - 3:00 a.m.

Weekends: Every other weekend availability required

Holiday Rotation: Required

Education Requirements

• BSN Required

Certification/Licensure Requirements

• Registered Nurse license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
• NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred

Experience Requirements

• 2 years RN experience Required
• Emergency Department experience preferred
• One year Nursing Leadership/Supervisory experience required

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full‑time employment is $104,416.00 - $154,356.80 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra‑shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full‑time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
