Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring full-time Registered Nurses for the Emergency Department, home to a Level I Trauma Center. This fast-paced unit offers nights 7 p.m.–7 a.m., with every-other-weekends rotation and a 36-hour workweek.

In addition to patient care, the ED team collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary staff to ensure timely, high-quality care. Sentara provides comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Overview:

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring full-time Registered Nurses for our Emergency Department, home to Hampton Roads' only Level I Trauma Center. Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital - Norfolk, VA

Position Status: Full-time, 36 hours per week

Shift: Night shift

Available Hours: 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

Weekends: Every other weekend availability required

Holiday Rotation: Required

Education Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required
• BSN or MSN preferred

Certification/Licensure Requirements

• Registered Nurse license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
• NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred

Experience Requirements

• Prior RN experience preferred
• Emergency Department experience preferred
• Strong candidates with related acute care, critical care, intermediate care, trauma, cardiac, stroke, or med/surg experience are encouraged to apply

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
