Job summary

Rutgers University’s Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center in Avenel, NJ is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse for daytime shifts. The LPN will administer total patient care under RN supervision in a correctional environment, ensuring safety and therapeutic care for assigned patients.

Responsibilities include data collection, contributing to the care plan, direct patient care, patient education, discharge preparation, and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey LPN license required.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with own transportation to multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Participates in data collection related to the patients’ status.
• Provides input to Registered Nurse for incorporation into the plan of care.
• Provides direct patient care within scope of practice to ensure implementation of the plan of care.
• Informs and instructs patients/significant others on patient’s health/illness state and plan of care.
• Assists patient/significant other in preparation for discharge and health maintenance in the home.
• Documents all aspects of patient care.
