Job summary

Southern Health Partners in New Bern, NC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct nursing care at Craven County Jail. The role supports a rotating 35-hour week with early morning shifts and weekend rotation.

You will administer medications, perform assessments, document care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, quality patient care in a correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in the state of North Carolina
• Current CPR certification
• Correctional healthcare experience is a plus, but not required
• Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
• Commitment to providing professional, compassionate patient care

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and treatment to patients within the facility
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Perform assessments and respond to patient healthcare needs
• Monitor and document patient conditions and care
• Collaborate with providers and the healthcare team
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records
• Respond appropriately to urgent and emergent medical needs
• Promote a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment
• Follow all facility and company policies and procedures
