Job summary

Sanford Health in Michigan, Iron Mountain is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the inpatient care team. You will provide general nursing support under a primary care provider, assess and assist in care planning, and ensure accurate patient data and timely documentation.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms and instruments, assisting with exams, processing orders and prescriptions, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
• UHMS certified wound care course within first 3 months.
• Experience as an LPN preferred in related area.
• Michigan LPN license required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• WI LPN license if floating to Wisconsin clinic within 3 months.
• CWCA certification within 3 ½ years.
• Valid driver's license if travel to offsite locations is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares instruments, equipment, materials and exam rooms for patient care.
• Obtains and documents complete patient data for accurate records.
• Assists provider with exams, tests and procedures and gives patient instructions.
• Completes clerical or insurance processes to ensure proper billing and charges.
• Assists with results or prescriptions to ensure patient understanding.
• Collaborates with the care team to develop and revise the care plan.
• Instructs patient and family to ensure understanding of care plan.
• Fills prescriptions per protocol and completes prior authorization forms.
• Regular attendance is required to perform essential functions.
• Maintains ongoing competency to perform role-specific tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.
