The GEO Group, Inc. in Florida is seeking a licensed practical nurse to join our correctional healthcare team. You will provide high-quality nursing care to inmates/detainees under RN supervision, with an emphasis on patient safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, unrestricted LPN license in the state the facility is located.
• Two years of direct work experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Competence in crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical assessment, medical nursing care, and psychiatric nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Develop nursing care plans with guidance from the RN.
• Perform complete physical assessment and medical history.
• Provide nursing care within your capacity and refer other medical problems to the physician.
• Administer prescribed medications as instructed.
• Periodically evaluate patients' symptoms, reactions, and progress.
• Document all detainee/inmate contacts and keep medical records confidential.
• Follow industry and company accreditation policies.
• Maintain a safe and secure workplace.
