Job summary

Ohio’s Hospice of Central Ohio is seeking a compassionate LPN for crisis care during night shifts in Columbus. You will provide one-on-one bedside nursing for patients in decline, under RN supervision, ensuring comfort, dignity and family support.

The role emphasizes high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care, documentation accuracy, and collaboration with the hospice team to meet patient-centered goals. Prior LPN experience and Ohio license are required.

Qualifications

  • Current LPN license in Ohio.
  • CPR certification.
  • One year of nursing experience preferred.
  • Computer skills to document patient care and services.
  • Ability to drive safely in various conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Auto insurance as required by state law.
  • Able to pass a background check and a 10-panel drug screen.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach and commitment to hospice care.

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Schedule: Full-Time | Nights | 8:00 PM–8:00 AM
Shifts: Three 12-hour shifts per week | Every-other-weekend rotation

As a Crisis Care LPN, you will provide one-on-one bedside care for patients who are actively declining and require an increased level of support. This is a meaningful opportunity to use your nursing skills while making a profound difference for patients and their loved ones.

What You’ll Do

Working under the direction and supervision of an RN, the Crisis Care LPN will:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to hospice patients in homes and facilities.
  • Provide one-on-one bedside care for patients experiencing an active decline.
  • Monitor patient condition and communicate changes to the supervising RN and care team.
  • Provide comfort-focused care that supports the patient's physical, emotional, and end-of-life needs.
  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary hospice team.
  • Document patient care and services accurately and timely.
  • Support patients and families with compassion, dignity, and respect throughout the end-of-life journey.
  • Deliver care in accordance with hospice standards, policies, and patient-centered goals.
What We’re Looking For
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Ohio with no active board actions.
  • One year of nursing experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Computer skills sufficient to accurately document patient care and services.
  • Ability to drive safely during daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Minimum state-required automobile insurance coverage.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.
  • Ability to successfully pass a 10-panel drug screening.
  • A compassionate, patient-centered approach and a genuine commitment to hospice care.
