Qualifications

• One year nursing experience preferred.
• Graduate of accredited LPN/LVN school of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Documents the resident’s condition and nursing needs.
• Implements physicians’ orders accurately and promptly.
• Assigns nursing care to team members according to residents’ needs and qualifications.
• Supervises, directs, and evaluates junior staff and CNAs.
• Administers medications and treatments and documents as required by rules and regulations.
• Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Ensures supplies are used economically and equipment is safe.
• Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinates nursing care with therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Interviews applicants and participates in staffing decisions and disciplinary actions as permitted by state law.
• Supervises nursing unit scheduling and inventory maintenance.
