Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide clinical support under RN supervision, ensuring smooth patient flow and physician and patient satisfaction. The LPN serves as a liaison between patients and the provider, administering medications and treatments per RN orders and completing assigned tasks across the unit.

Candidates must graduate from an accredited LPN program, demonstrate accountability for patient outcomes, and commit to ongoing education.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and competency in completing assigned treatments and procedures according to established standards and policies.
• Follows plan of care as directed by the RN and/or clinical supervisors.
• Records vital signs, intake and output, and other related responsibilities.
• Supports/reinforces patient teaching and discharge planning.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene, nutrition and daily activities.
• Adapts work schedule to meet the needs of the unit and is willing to float when required.
• Assists with and reassures patients and families.
