Job summary

The Burton Center for Disabilities and Special Needs in South Carolina is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time, on-site position across our disability-support programs. You will administer medications, monitor health status, assist with physician orders, and support routine health assessments in collaboration with Direct Support Professionals.

Strong communication, meticulous documentation, and a commitment to person-centered care are essential.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in South Carolina, in good standing.
• Demonstrated clinical skills in basic nursing care, medication administration, and health monitoring.
• Experience or strong interest in working with adults with disabilities in residential or community settings.
• Clear and compassionate communication with individuals, families, and team members in writing and verbally.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills, including accurate charting and regulatory adherence.
• Ability to collaborate with Direct Support Professionals and interdisciplinary teams, guiding health-related issues.
• Commitment to person-centered care, respect for individual rights, and community inclusion.
• Basic computer skills for electronic health records and organizational systems; familiarity with health-care documentation software is beneficial.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain; prior experience in long-term care, behavioral health, or community health is a plus.
• Ability to meet physical and safety requirements, including lifting, assisting with mobility, and emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; monitor health status.
• Document health status and care provided; update medical records.
