Job summary
Ability Beyond Barriers is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community-based residential homes. This is NOT a nursing home or hospital role.
As an LPN in Residential Services, you’ll administer medications, monitor health, maintain MARs, coordinate appointments, and train Direct Support Professionals. Starting bonus $1,200 is awarded with milestones.
Qualifications
- Active SC LPN license.
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- Experience with I/DD or community-based care is a plus.
- Work conducted in multiple residential homes across the community.
- Evenings, weekends, or on-call rotation as needed.
- This is an Essential Employee role.
Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered nursing care in home-like residential settings.
- Administer medications, monitor health status, and complete treatments.
- Maintain accurate MARs and clinical documentation.
- Coordinate medical appointments and follow-up care.
- Train and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) on health-related tasks.
- Respond to changes in condition and communicate with the care team.
- Promote infection control, safety, and wellness in the home environment.
