Job summary

EngageMED, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to care for ill or convalescing patients in the clinic setting. The LPN may work under supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician and will perform a range of nursing duties.

You will administer medications, monitor and chart patient status, take vital signs, and provide basic care such as wound management and catheterization as part of a collaborative health care team. Prior nursing experience and AR licensure are required.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications or starts IV fluids with charting of times and amounts
• Observes patients, notes changes in condition, and reports adverse reactions
• Measures and records vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
• Provides basic patient care such as wound care, baths, bedsores treatment, and catheterization as needed
• Answers patient calls and triages requests for assistance
• Works with health care team to assess needs, plan care, and implement interventions
• Assembles and uses equipment like catheters and oxygen supplies
• Records intake and output of food and fluids

He or she may work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneDuties/Responsibilities:Administers medications or starts intravenous fluids, noting times and amounts on patients’ charts.Observes patients, charting, and reporting changes in conditions such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and takes necessary actions.Answers patients calls and determines how to assist them.Measures and records patients’ vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.Provides basic patient care or treatments such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches, rubbing with alcohol, massaging, or performing catheterizations.Works as part of a health care team to assess patient needs, plans and modifies care, and implements interventions.Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other health care team members.Assembles and uses equipment such as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, or oxygen suppliers.Records food and fluid intake and output.Required Skills/Abilities:General knowledge of nursing and health care terminology.Excellent patient care skills.Education and Experience:Postsecondary certificate from vocational school or associate degree in nursing required.Current Arkansas state licensure required.Prior clinical experience preferredPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.May require prolonged periods of standing, moving, and bending.Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.DisclaimersThis job description reflects EngageMED’s assignment of essential functions, it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.Critical features of this job are listed above.
