Job summary

EngageMED in Hot Springs, AR is seeking an experienced nursing professional for a full-time role within our clinical team. You will administer medications, monitor patients, and collaborate with a health care team to plan and adapt care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Administers medications or starts intravenous fluids, noting times and amounts on patients’ charts.
• Observes patients, charts and reports changes in conditions and takes necessary actions.
• Answers patients’ calls and determines how to assist them.
• Measures and records vital signs (height, weight, temperature, BP, pulse, respiration).
• Provides basic patient care (temperature checks, blood pressure, wound care, dressings, catheterizations).
• Works with health care team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care, and implement interventions.
• Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes with the health care team.
• Assembles and uses equipment such as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, or oxygen supplies.
• Records food and fluid intake and output.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Administers medications or starts intravenous fluids, noting times and amounts on patients’ charts.
• Observes patients, charting, and reporting changes in conditions such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and takes necessary actions.
• Answers patients calls and determines how to assist them.
• Measures and records patients’ vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
• Provides basic patient care or treatments such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches, rubbing with alcohol, massaging, or performing catheterizations.
• Works as part of a health care team to assess patient needs, plans and modifies care, and implements interventions.
• Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other health care team members.
• Assembles and uses equipment such as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, or oxygen suppliers.
• Records food and fluid intake and output.

Required Skills/Abilities

• General knowledge of nursing and health care terminology.
• Excellent patient care skills.

Education and Experience

• Postsecondary certificate from vocational school or associate degree in nursing required.
• Current Arkansas state licensure required.
• Prior clinical experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• May require prolonged periods of standing, moving, and bending.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
