Care Initiatives in Iowa is seeking a Charge Nurse - LPN to deliver high-quality nursing care, assess residents, administer medications, and lead a care team on our unit. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal resident outcomes and mentoring for CNAs.

Qualifications

• Valid LPN license in good standing in Iowa.
• Current CPR certification.
• State-approved LPN Supervisory Course or ability to obtain within first 90 days.
• Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations.
• Strong empathy, patience, and discretion.

Responsabilités

• Conduct ongoing assessments of residents’ clinical status and contribute to individualized care planning.
• Deliver and oversee direct nursing care, including wound care and catheter care, within scope and physician orders.
• Administer medications and prescribed treatments safely and accurately, with compliant documentation.
• Serve as a clinical leader on the unit by coordinating resident care and communicating with physicians, nurse leadership, residents, and families.
• Supervise, mentor, and support CNAs and other staff, promoting teamwork and high-quality resident care.
• Ensure adherence to state/federal regulations and infection prevention practices.
• Provide education, guidance, and emotional support to residents and families.
