Care Initiatives in Iowa is seeking a Charge Nurse - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide comprehensive nursing care in a compassionate, resident-centered environment. This role requires applying clinical assessments, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, and supervising CNAs to ensure safe, compliant care.

Qualifications

• LPN license in good standing and Iowa eligibility.
• Current CPR certification.
• State-approved LPN supervisory course or ability to obtain in 90 days.
• Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations.
• Strong empathy, respect, patience, and discretion in care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing assessments of residents' clinical status and contribute to care planning.
• Deliver and oversee direct nursing care including wound care, IV therapy, and catheter care as allowed.
• Administer medications and treatments with accurate documentation.
• Serve as unit clinical leader, coordinating resident care and communicating with physicians and families.
• Supervise and mentor CNAs and other staff to ensure high-quality care.
• Ensure adherence to state/federal regulations and infection prevention practices.
• Provide education, guidance, and emotional support to residents and families.
