Job summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care to residents and supervises nursing assistants to ensure high-quality care in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The LPN also performs professional nursing services such as catheterization, wound care, and IV care, while fostering a warm and collaborative environment.

Coordination with physicians and effective communication with residents and families are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current unencumbered LPN license.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and guidelines for care facilities.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• Willingness to undertake additional training as states require.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organization and time management abilities.
• Good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform all functions under your active license as assigned.
• Care for residents per care plans and physician orders.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered.
• Maintain rapport with inter-departmental staff to support nursing services.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and meals.
• Communicate with clinical leadership when needs change.
• Care for residents with dementia and ensure safety standards.
