Job summary

Mainspring Recovery is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our on-site team in Dumfries, VA. The LPN will provide high-quality clinical care to residential clients and work closely with behavioral health professionals to meet care standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 months of LPN experience, preferably in mental health or residential substance use settings, and holds a Virginia LPN license. Various shifts available with flexible options and shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Virginia state LPN license current and renewal required.
• Minimum of 6 months Licensed Practical Nurse clinical experience.
• Mental health and residential substance use disorder nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and triage client medical needs and refer as appropriate.
• Refer clients to urgent care, emergency dept., dental, PCP, or on-site provider as clinically indicated.
• Review medications for all new admissions and update client profile in the medical record.
• Complete initial intake including vital signs and weight; monitor vital signs, weight, blood sugar, and pain as part of treatment plan.
• Organize medication carts; dispose or return outdated RXs.
• Document progress notes on nurse interactions in medical records and communicate with staff as needed.
• Consult with admission coordinator, clinical director, and medical provider on admissions with complex medical needs.
• Maintain updated medication lists; verify labs are completed timely and scan results into charts.
• Notify providers of abnormal labs; review controlled substances.
• Coordinate with treatment team on patient progress and ongoing medical care needs.
• Schedule appointments with outside providers as referred by medical/psychiatric team.
