Job summary

Promises / Washburn House in Worcester, MA, seeks licensed practical/vocational nurses to provide professional patient care in detox and residential settings. You will collaborate with health team members, manage medications, and monitor patients to ensure safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of accredited LVN/LPN program, required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree, preferred.
• Current LVN/LPN license.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Minimum one year in behavioral health or residential detoxification program setting required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fulfillment of patient medical orders and address medical concerns.
• Triage medical concerns, administer medications and injections as directed.
• Monitor patient self-administration of medications.
• Screen patients for pain and make referrals for evaluation and management as appropriate.
• Serve as first line in medical emergencies and collaborate with clinical team for psychiatric emergencies.
• Perform laboratory procedures from specimen collections as authorized.
• Record patient observations in records per nursing standards and policy.
• Communicate with patients, physicians, nurses and pharmacy staff.
• Oversee admission/discharge process including pre-screening, data collection, and health history.
• Handle discharge paperwork and ensure proper documentation of care.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information and infection control practices.
• Attend required training on chemical dependency.
