Job summary

Promises Behavioral Health in Dacula, GA seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our clinical team. The RN/LPN will provide front-line nursing care under the Medical Director, supporting detox and recovery services.

The role requires at least three years of nursing experience, an active LPN license, strong communication, and the ability to work independently. CPR/First Aid certification is required or obtained soon after hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience.
• Valid Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by state of employment.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent customer care skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• At least 2 years' experience in substance abuse/recovery program preferred.
• CPR/First Aid Certification is required or must be obtained within state-mandated time frame after first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Meets with new clients and assists in completing the medical and health assessment/questionnaire.
• Coordinates with attending physicians to ensure admission orders and ancillary services are addressed.
• Completes nursing assessments, transcription of orders, medication administration, and progress notes.
• Directs patient care and reports changes in mental/physical status and safety risks.
• Provides ongoing patient education on detox, recovery, medications and health issues.
• Reconciles medication sheets and daily pharmacy orders; ensures proper destruction.
• Assists with QA program development and infection control training.
• Attends treatment planning conferences and staff meetings.
• Available for 24-hour coverage for consultation and emergencies.
