Job summary

Southeast Health in Kentucky is seeking an LPN for the Medical/Surgical Unit. The role supports nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for adult and geriatric patients.

Candidates must have an active LPN license, 2 years hospital LPN experience for float pool LPNs, and BLS certification. English literacy and Windows PC skills are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in the state (Kentucky).
• Required two years hospital LPN experience (float pool LPNs).
• Must read, write, and speak English.
• Successful course completion in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Successful completion of institutional basic EKG course (interpretation of life-threatening dysrhythmias).
• Annual completion of unit-specific competency requirements.
• Experience operating personal computers in Windows environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care activities for individuals in the Medical/Surgical Unit.
• Contribute to nursing assessment and planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Support the hospital mission, vision, and values in daily practice.
• Care for adult and geriatric Medical/Surgical patients according to policies and procedures.

## **Job Description Summary**Performs nursing care activities for individuals in the Medical/Surgical Unit. Actively accepts, understands, and practices appropriate standards of Medical/Surgical nursing. Contributes to the nursing assessment of the Medical/Surgical patient. Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Actively supports the mission, vision, and values of the hospital and department.
