Role Summary

The Licensed Practical Nursing staff at GenesisCare are a specifically trained group of individuals who demonstrate expertise in dealing with cancer patients during all aspects of care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Always maintain a professional manner with patients, physicians, staff and the general public while in the work environment.
• Provide direct nursing care for identified patients.
• Perform nursing assessments and triage for new and current patients as instructed.
• Provide education to patients with verbal instruction and printed materials.
• Schedule surgical procedures at facilities.
• Assist the surgeon with minor office procedures, including set up, specimen collection and coordinating pickup.
• Identify patients and ensure appropriate patient charts are utilized.
• Observe first signs of any complications, report to the physician and document the report.
• Provide patient care and comfort necessary for procedures.
• Deliver clear and concise instructions appropriate to the level of comprehension of the patient.
• Assist the surgeon with callbacks of results and address any concerns from patients.
• Be familiar with OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Arrive as scheduled and reliably complete assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
• Direct questions to the proper people at the proper time.
• Accept responsibility for actions and be willing to lend assistance where needed.
• Exhibit good follow‑through on given tasks.

Education / Experience Required

• Current LPN license in good standing.
• 1–3 years proven experience in a related field.
• Be an active part of the center’s team.
