Paychex Inc. is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to work in a private office setting, providing nursing care under supervision of a physician assistant, nurse practitioner or physician.

Travel to all offices in Mattituck, Southampton, and Center Moriches is required. The role involves patient rooming, vitals, injections, specimen collection, vaccines, EMR documentation, and assisting with procedures.

Formación

• Current New York State LPN License.
• One year of professional nursing experience.
• CPR/AED Certified.
• Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records.
• Excellent communication, decision making, leadership and problem solving skills.
• Supervisory experience a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Places patients in exam rooms and documents reason for visit.
• Measures height, weight, blood pressure, pulse and temperature.
• Perform hearing/vision tests; conduct spirometry and EKGs.
• Gather/update patient information in the EMR.
• Assist physician with procedures and examinations.
• Collect blood and lab specimens as requested.
• Prepare and administer vaccines and medications.
• Obtain results from outside labs and radiology.
• Provide patient education on treatments, medications, diets and instructions.
• Stock rooms and inventory supplies.
• Call patients as directed by physician.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.

Job Summary

We are looking for an LPN to work in a private office setting which requires specialized knowledge, clinical judgment and nursing skills. The LPN is part of a team using patient care skills to meet established practice guidelines, office policies and regulatory standards, under supervision of the physician assistant, nurse practitioner or physician. Travel to all offices, Mattituck, Southampton, and Center Moriches

Essential Job Functions

• Places patients in the exam room and documents for physician the reason for visit.
• Measures patients height, weight, blood pressure, pulse and temperature.
• Able to perform hearing and vision tests. Do spirometry and EKGs.
• Gather/enter/update patient information in the EMR.
• Assist physician with special procedures and examinations.
• Collect blood and lab specimens as requested by the physician.
• Prepare and administer vaccines and medications on physician’s orders.
• Obtain results from outside labs, radiology and other doctor’s offices.
• Provide patient education for treatments, medications, diets and physician instructions.
• Stock rooms with medical supplies and medications. Inventory and order supplies.
• Call patients when ordered by the physician.
• Observe patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
• Complete other tasks as directed by physician.

Physical Demands

May spend a great deal of their professional day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. Ability to lift 20 pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients or objects may involve lifting of up to 50 pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend or twist their body, as well as visual acuity.
