Stony-Brook-Community-Medical,-P is seeking an LPN to join Mattituck Family Medicine in New York. The role requires specialized nursing skills and clinical judgment to support physicians and physician assistants in a private office setting.

You will perform family medicine patient care, take vitals, administer vaccines, collect specimens, operate EMR, and help with procedures. Candidates must hold a NY LPN license, CPR/AED, and at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• LPN license valid in New York State.
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities; leadership is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Greet and place patients, document visit reason.
• Measure vitals: height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature.
• Perform hearing/vision tests, spirometry, EKG.
• Enter/update patient information in EMR.
• Assist physician with procedures.
• Collect blood and lab specimens.
• Prepare vaccines/medications as ordered.
• Obtain results from labs/imaging.
• Educate patients on treatments and meds.
• Stock rooms and manage supplies.
• Communicate with patients per physician orders.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Other duties as directed.

Job Summary

We are looking for an LPN to work in a private office setting which requires specialized knowledge, clinical judgment and nursing skills. The LPN is part of a team using patient care skills to meet established practice guidelines, office policies and regulatory standards, under supervision of the physician assistant, nurse practitioner or physician.

Essential Job Functions

• Places patients in the exam room and documents for physician the reason for visit.
• Measures patients height, weight, blood pressure, pulse and temperature.
• Able to perform hearing and vision tests. Do spirometry and EKGs.
• Gather/enter/update patient information in the EMR.
• Assist physician with special procedures and examinations.
• Collect blood and lab specimens as requested by the physician.
• Prepare and administer vaccines and medications on physician's orders.
• Obtain results from outside labs, radiology and other doctor's offices.
• Provide patient education for treatments, medications, diets and physician instructions.
• Stock rooms with medical supplies and medications. Inventory and order supplies.
• Call patients when ordered by the physician.
• Observe patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
• Complete other tasks as directed by physician.

Physical Demands

May spend a great deal of their professional day walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. Ability to lift 20 pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients or objects may involve lifting of up to 50 pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend or twist their body, as well as visual acuity.
