Job summary

Operation PAR, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing services in an outpatient substance use disorder treatment setting. In this role, you will perform assessments, administer medications, and coordinate patient care with the Treatment Team.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, a valid LPN license in Florida, and ideally have experience in the healthcare field. A commitment to teamwork and a clear driving record are essential.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience in medical or behavioral health field preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing assessments and patient evaluations.
  • Dispenses and administers medications to patients.
  • Coordinates patient care with the Treatment Team.

Job description

Operation PAR, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering the full continuum of services for individuals with substance use and/or mental health disorders. PAR has been providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970 through advocacy, education, clinical services, and research.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Provides nursing services to patients in an outpatient, substance use disorder treatment setting. Completes nursing assessments, patient evaluations & screenings, dispenses & administers medications, and provides patients with healthcare education. Works with all members of the Treatment Team to coordinate patient care.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma / GED required
  • One year of experience working in the medical and/or behavioral health field preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
  • CPR and First Aid certification to be completed within six months of employment
  • Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Ability to write accurately and legibly
  • Moderate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows-based computers
  • Ability to accurately type at least 40 words per minute
  • Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend, stoop and reach
  • Ability to sit in meetings for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move throughout program facilities both indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds
  • Good hearing and vision
  • Ability to drive mobile unit

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
  • Treatment program / mobile treatment facility / county jail environment
  • Exposure to possible verbal abuse and similar behavior

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must pass a level II background check (https://info.flclearinghouse.com) and drug screen.
