Job summary

Jobtailor in South Carolina is seeking a licensed registered nurse or LPN to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise CNAs. You will ensure compliance with regulations, plan shifts, administer medications, document care, and coordinate services.

Qualifications

  • Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or graduation from an approved LPN/LVN program.
  • Current SC LPN/LVN license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-admissions healthcare setting preferred.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts and weekends.
  • Knowledge of nursing procedures and applicable laws and guidelines.
  • Leadership and supervisory ability.
  • Maintain required continuing education/licensing and stay in good standing with State Board of Nursing.
  • Must meet facility health requirements and pass physical examinations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents.
  • Supervise daily nursing activities by CNAs and other nursing staff.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and facility standards.
  • Plan shift services, staffing, and work assignments.
  • Prepare and administer physician-ordered medications and treatments.
  • Complete admissions, transfers, discharges, and related documentation.
  • Receive and transcribe physician orders and maintain medical records.
  • Monitor residents' conditions, vital signs, and care plans.
  • Notify physicians and next of kin about changes in residents' conditions.
  • Coordinate diagnostic, therapeutic, restorative, and activity services.
  • Participate in quality assurance, care planning, and discharge planning.
  • Conduct rounds and communicate with physicians, staff, residents, families, and agencies.
  • Participate in orientation, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor safety, sanitation, infection control, PPE use, and equipment.

Job description

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents
  • Supervise daily nursing activities performed by certified nursing assistants and other nursing personnel
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and facility standards, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Plan shift services, programs, activities, staffing, and work assignments
  • Prepare and administer physician-ordered medications and treatments
  • Complete admission, transfer, discharge, charting, documentation, accident, and incident records
  • Receive and transcribe physician orders and maintain resident medical records
  • Monitor residents' conditions, vital signs, treatments, diets, care plans, and responses to care
  • Notify physicians and next of kin about accidents, incidents, or changes in residents' conditions
  • Coordinate diagnostic, therapeutic, restorative, rehabilitative, social, and activity services
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, facility surveys, care plan development, MDS/RAP planning, and discharge planning
  • Conduct rounds, provide nursing reports, and communicate with physicians, staff, residents, families, visitors, and government agencies
  • Participate in staff orientation, training, in-service education, performance evaluations, and continuing education
  • Monitor safety, sanitation, infection control, PPE use, equipment, supplies, and hazardous-material procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary nursing environment
  • Respond to emergencies, including assisting with resident evacuation when necessary
Requirements
  • Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or graduation from an approved LPN/LVN program
  • Current, unencumbered, active South Carolina LPN/LVN license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-admissions healthcare setting preferred
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts and weekends
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, and applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • Leadership and supervisory ability
  • Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred
  • Must maintain required continuing education/licensing and remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing
  • Must meet facility health requirements, including medical and physical examination
  • Ability to move, push, pull, and/or carry a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and 50 feet distance
  • Ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, support agencies, and under stressful conditions
