Job summary

Graceland Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. The role includes direct resident care, medication administration, and assisting with comfort and assessments in a facility focused on wellness and independence.

The position offers full-time and part-time options with competitive pay of $26–$31 per hour, plus a $3,000 sign-on bonus and benefits such as 401(k), health and dental insurance, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in the state.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Excellent technical, assessment and documentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand/walk 4+ hours daily.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care) daily.
• Provide bedside care; administer medications and document effects.
• Assist with resident comfort and orientation of staff.
• Prepare and administer injections and/or enemas.
• Collect samples and monitor catheters; take vital signs as directed.
• Support training of other staff and assist with special projects.

Responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Provide personal care (i.e., grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.) of residents daily and as needed.
• Provide bedside care. Administer medications and document therapeutic effects.
• Assist with resident comfort.
• Prepare and administer injections and/or enemas.
• Collect samples and monitor catheters.
• Take TPR (temperature, pulse, & rate), blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc., as directed.
• Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested.
• Other special projects and duties, as assigned.

Requirements of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse with current state license.
• Must have a current/active CPR certification.
• Excellent technical, assessment and documentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift fifty (50) or more pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
• Able to stand and/or walk for more than four (4) hours per day.
• Able to bend and/or stoop for more than one (1) hour at a time.
