Job summary

Continuing Care Hospital - Lexington is seeking an LPN to deliver compassionate nursing care under physician or RN direction. You will assess resident needs and provide essential physical and psychosocial care, while documenting accurately.

You will educate residents and families, uphold mission and core values, and may supervise nursing assistants or students in clinical or educational settings. A strong commitment to patient comfort and clear communication is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited practical nursing program and licensure to practice as LPN.
• KY LPN license must be active at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides families of patients with emotional support, information and guidance in treating the identified patient.
• Educates patients and families in areas of health and illness that maintain optimum levels of physical and emotional functioning.
• Maintains designated yearly competencies by unit.
• Maintains certifications according to specific unit requirements.
• Demonstrates Saint Joseph Healthcare Mission and Core Values (Reverence, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence).
• In a clinical or education setting, may oversee one or more associates, such as Nurse Assistants, Unit Secretaries, orientees and students.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide compassionate nursing care to our residents, under the direction of a physician or Registered Nurse.

Every day, you will assess resident needs and deliver essential physical or psychosocial care.

To be successful in this role, you will exhibit genuine compassion for patient well-being, an understanding of your critical role in ensuring their comfort, and the patience to explain procedures, answer questions, and maintain accurate documentation.

• Provides families of patients with emotional support, information and guidance in treating the identified patient.
