In This Role You Will:
- Maintain responsibility for admission and assessment of new residents.
- Receive and give accurate, timely verbal and written reports on residents’ condition upon shift change; confer with nursing leadership and/or the nurse(s) on the next shift to provide continuity of care and relay information to other nursing shifts to assure proper follow‑up of physician’s orders and instructions.
- Make routine rounds of assigned residents and modify standard nursing procedures for care, as needed.
- Ensure that medications are administered within required time frames and as needed (PRN); document any adverse reactions and take appropriate measures.
- Inventory medication supplies and order medications from the pharmacy as needed; read all medication labels and alert supervisor of any possible pharmacy or dispensing errors.
- Assist physicians in making rounds, perform nursing procedures, and contribute to residents’ care plan and progress.
- Observe and report symptoms/conditions of residents to the treating physician, director of nursing, and designated family member(s) in a timely manner.
- Receive, transcribe, and execute physicians’ written or verbal orders.
- Document pertinent information in residents’ medical records according to departmental policy and applicable State Department of Health regulations.
- Monitor and assist with responding to all nurse call systems and report malfunctions immediately to the nursing leadership.
- Use personal protective equipment when providing care and ensure all medication dispensing equipment is clean, sanitized, secured and kept in an orderly manner.
Full‑time evening shift 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Full‑time night shift 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Qualifications:
- Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program; maintain an active license in good standing with the state; basic computer‑related skills.
- Preferred: Prior experience working in senior living/long‑term care.
