Job summary

The Arc of Washington County is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to ensure compliance with regulations and serve as a Residential Services Nurse. This position involves a flexible schedule of approximately 40 hours per week, including day, afternoon, and evening shifts, as well as every other weekend.

Qualifications

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in compliance with COMAR regulations including the Nurse Practice Act and the Developmental Disabilities regulations.
• Serve as the "Residential Services Nurse" for an assigned group of individuals.
• Work full‑time (approximately 40 hours per week), with a flexible schedule: day, afternoon, and evening Monday to Friday and every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice in Maryland as an LPN. Recently licensed LPNs will be considered, but preference is given to those with clinical nursing experience or at least six months as an LPN.
• One year of experience working with developmental disabilities or a similar population.
• 21 years old or older, with a valid driver’s license and at least three (3) years of driving experience and a good driving history.
• Pass a reading comprehension and math test, a background check, a pre‑employment screening including a drug screen.
• Ability to lift, transfer, provide direct care, and implement proper restraint techniques to ensure the safety of persons served.
• Complete two weeks of paid specialized training (held Monday‑Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm).
