Two part-time opportunities are available at approximately 24 hours per week and 30 hours per week, offering consistent daytime schedules Monday through Friday with no nights or weekends.

The nurse provides triage, patient care, and support for medication refills and prior authorizations while working as part of a collaborative, patient-centered care team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide ambulatory and outpatient nursing care to pediatric and adult patients in a clinic environment.
  • Perform telephone and in-person triage, accurately assessing patient needs and directing care appropriately.
  • Support providers by preparing patients for visits, assisting during examinations, and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Manage medication refills, including processing requests, coordinating with providers, and ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Handle prior authorization requests by gathering necessary clinical information and communicating with payers as needed.
  • Document patient encounters, triage assessments, and care provided in the electronic health record in a clear and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other clinical staff to deliver integrated, patient-centered care.
  • Provide age-appropriate education and support to patients and families, with sensitivity to pediatric and adult needs.
  • Maintain consistent weekly hours while adapting to occasional schedule adjustments based on clinic needs.
  • Travel rarely to another local office when needed to support staffing and ensure continuity of patient care.

  • Comfort managing medication refills and navigating prior authorization processes.
  • Competence in patient care activities such as assessments, documentation, and coordination with providers.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent daytime schedule Monday through Friday with some flexibility as needed.
  • Willingness to travel on rare occasions to another office location to support staffing needs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience using Epic or other electronic health record systems is beneficial, but Epic is not required as training can be provided for candidates with strong clinical experience.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to patient-centered values including excellence, honesty, collaboration, innovation, and compassionate care.
  • Interest in long-term professional growth supported by tuition assistance and educational opportunities.
Work Environment

The position is based in an ambulatory/outpatient clinic within an established health system that combines the resources of a larger network with the feel of a local community practice.

Work hours are daytime, Monday through Friday, with no nights or weekends, and office hours generally run between early morning and early evening, with coverage ideally around typical business hours and some flexibility. The environment is team-oriented, emphasizing collaboration among providers, centers, and programs to deliver integrated patient care. Epic is used as the electronic health record system in many settings, and training is available for clinicians without prior Epic experience. On rare occasions, nurses may travel to another nearby office to support staffing needs.
