Job summary

Shawnee Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) for our OBGYN Clinics, rotating between Carbondale and Marion. The role reports to the Nurse Manager and focuses on patient care within a busy clinical setting.

Responsibilities include assisting providers, preparing exam rooms, obtaining vital signs, managing immunizations, and ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Candidate must hold an Illinois LPN license and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Illinois nursing license to practice as an LPN.
• Must have a valid Illinois driver's license and auto liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers by chaperoning intimate exams and helping with office procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized, confidential work area.
• Greet patients, verify name/DOB and escort to exam room.
• Obtain vital signs, allergies, medication reconciliation and document findings in EHR.
• Perform Point of Care Testing.
• Reportable disease reporting to IDPH in a timely manner.

Shawnee Health is seeking a LPN for our Shawnee Health OBGYN Clinics (Rotating between Carbondale and Marion). This position reports directly to the Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities

In addition to all normal LPN job duties additional duties will include the following responsibilities:

• Communicate with supervisor and other team members during the work day to meet the needs of the patients.
• Follows all clinic policies and procedures for medication and immunization administration, sign out, reconciliation and inventory management.
• Assists providers by chaperoning intimate exams and assisting with office procedures.
• Prepares the exam rooms for the patient by setting up any needed equipment and maintains a clean, organized, efficient and confidential work area.
• Greets the patient, escorts the patient to the exam room, and verifies patient name and date of birth.
• Obtains vital signs, height and weight, allergies, completes medication reconciliation, review of systems, updates immunizations and documents relevant information by following appropriate EHR work flow for the visit type and alerts provider to any concerns.
• Responsible for performing Point of Care Testing
• Responsible for documenting reportable disease to IDPH in a timely manner.

Requirements
