Job summary

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Consumer Services, Bureau of Standards, is seeking a Liquefied Petroleum Gas Inspector. The position involves inspecting LP gas storage, distribution, and related equipment, ensuring measurement accuracy, and enforcing applicable laws.

Travel is moderate with possible overnight stays. A high school diploma plus LP gas experience is required, along with a valid Class E license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of LP gas industry experience.
• Experience inspecting weighing/ measuring devices and enforcing related Florida Statutes may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Valid Class E driver license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of LP Gas storage, supply and distribution systems and related equipment.
• Inspect measuring devices for accuracy and sale/quantity compliance.
• Review site plans for new and existing facilities.
• Investigate consumer complaints, accidents, and sale/quantity methods.
• Complete and maintain inspection documentation.
• Provide technical education to local authorities and industry personnel regarding LP Gas laws.
