Books-A-Million in Birmingham, AL is seeking an LP Data Intern for Spring 2027. This part-time internship (up to 20 hours per week) is based at the West Park Corporate Office in Birmingham on a hybrid schedule running Jan 25 to Apr 23, 2027.

You will help build Total Loss, a data-driven program that improves timely insights into store shrink. Under supervision of Loss Prevention leadership and the LP Analyst, you will identify data sources, organize data, and create repeatable reporting.

Qualifications

• Rising junior or rising senior in college.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Experience using AI tools and interest in building more advanced skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop the Total Loss program using a documented outline.
• Identify and evaluate non-inventory data sources affecting store P&L.
• Gather, connect, and organize data from multiple sources.
• Build a reporting mechanism that tracks data monthly and reports quarterly.
