Books-A-Million is seeking an Operations Intern for Spring 2027 in Birmingham, AL. The role focuses on designing and piloting a Store Social Coordinator Toolkit to help stores manage Instagram, TikTok, Google Business Profile, and community engagement with minimal extra labor.

The intern will develop training materials, templates, calendars, and playbooks, working closely with Operations, Marketing, and Communications to ensure brand compliance and measurable local impact.

Qualifications

• Undergrad or grad student pursuing marketing, communications, or business.
• Hands-on fluency with Instagram, TikTok, and Google Business Profile.
• Clear, concise writing for training materials and job aids.
• Visual layout skills using Canva or similar tools.
• Strong project organization and stakeholder interviewing skills.

Responsibilities

• Audit current store social activity across ~20 accounts and summarize gaps, risks, and best practices.
• Visit stores and interview Store Managers, District Managers, and posting associates.
• Benchmark local social accounts of peer retailers and align with brand standards.
• Collaborate with Marketing, LP, HR, Communications, and Merchandising to understand brand guidelines.
