Job summary

University of Chicago Laboratory Schools is seeking a Lower School Learning Coordinator to join the Learning and Counseling team. This role supports all students, advising teachers, parents, and administrators on learning needs and strategies for interventions and accommodations.

The position involves collaboration with specialists and administrators to tailor learning plans, guide families through processes, and maintain up-to-date teaching techniques for a quality educational experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree in Special Education, Education Psychology, or closely related field required.
• Minimum of three years as a Special Education teacher, Learning Disabilities Specialist, Case Manager, or School Psychologist required.
• Teaching experience in elementary grades (3-5) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observation, consultation, & referrals with teachers and parents on student support plans.
• Coordination & case management between school personnel and external professionals.
• Ongoing communication with teachers and families on student progress.
• Testing & assessment oversight (NWEA MAP, EasyCBM) and planning targeted interventions.
• Additional duties to support students, faculty, and families.
