Job description

SAR Academy, a Modern Orthodox, co-educational day school in Riverdale, NY is now accepting resumes for Assistant Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year in the Lower School (grades 1-5).

Responsibilities:

1. Assist head teacher in lesson and unit planning, teaching and management of class
2. Facilitate small group learning
3. Participate in preparation for parent/teacher conferences and written reports
4. Collaborate with grade level team on planning and implementation of special programs
5. Share in responsibilities outside of the classroom, including lunch, dismissal, and recess duty
6. Supervise students in 'Beyond the Bell' after-school activity

Qualifications:

1. Strong ability to connect with children and cultivate an atmosphere of belonging
2. Problem-solving and collaborative skills
3. Understanding of social, emotional and cognitive development
