High Mowing School is searching for a Lower School Assistant Teacher

For the 2026-27 School Year

We are looking for an individual to join our experienced and collaborative faculty as a Lower School Assistant Teacher to work with first through third grades for 2026-27. The Lower School assistant works closely with the lead class teachers and a team of experienced colleagues to provide a caring and warm Waldorf experience for our youngest grades students.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is experienced in working with children in early childhood and/or grade school settings. Certification or other educational credentials preferred. Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs is a plus. Creative and enthusiastic, they enjoy serving the learning needs of elementary aged children and seek a school with a strong vision, energetic colleagues, and clear leadership. The assistant role will work with the whole class, small groups, and individual students.

Dependability, flexibility, and the ability to joyfully collaborate with the lead teacher are key attributes to the candidate's success.
