Job summary

P & K Midwest in Lowden, IA is seeking a Service Technician to diagnose and repair basic agricultural equipment integral to customer and dealer needs. You will communicate with the Service Manager and Shop Foreman and contribute to maintaining equipment and tool readiness.

The role requires knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, plus experience with diagnostic software and a valid driving record. Safety sensitive position with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a diesel mechanic preferred.
• Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques for agricultural equipment repair.
• Proficiency with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic software and internet tools.
• Ability to operate diagnostic vehicles and equipment.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Good driving record.

Responsibilities

Summary

Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or Shop Foreman. Maintains professional communication with all company locations to insure information flows in an appropriate manner.

• Performs basic agricultural equipment repairs as requested by the supervisor.
• Participates in all job‑related training and development.
• Prepares all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
• Maintains current product knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
